308 Bisley

For starters, I have loaded up 155gr Sierra Palma's at 2.80" that puts me .030 from the Lands (medium mag length, I can load them to 2.875 and still fit ok) with Ramshot "TAC" powder 5 each @ 39gr through 44gr at 1 grain increments and the same using RL-15. Just looking right now

***Is there a better way to obtain best grouping?***

Oh here is a pick I just took of the finished product.

Very nice picture! Black on black and it all shows up - very nicely done.

It seem to take as much skill to chamber a barrel as it does to take a good photograph :o

Weather was bad, but shot several over the chronograph in the yard today, got a few over pressure ejector marks on the cases at 41.5gr of ramshot with a 165gr nosler b-tip. Looks like I will have to cut back 1 to 1-1/2 grs or so. back to the drawing board. Pulled the bullets with anything over 41grs of powder tonight and will start back in the am .

OK today was the day.
I loaded up 45gr- RL15 inside a Nosler case with Winchester primers, sat a 155gr Lapua on top and this is what I got:

imag0109 = .481"
imag0112 = .239"
imag0113 = .365

These are center to center

German thanks for the advice!!!

185's are on there way and picked up some 4895 yesterday also :-)

Oh I only had 3 ejector marks today out of 50 with that 45gr load and wound up with a SD of 12, loaded up ten rounds at 44.7 and shot over chrono to get 2875fps, SD of 8. Do you think starting with 44gr of 4895 and working up to say 44.6 would be a good starting point?

I assume you mean with the 155 gr. bullet. I would suggest a lower starting load, especially with that AR action. 42.5 would be my starting point.

OK let me start over.
yes the 155gr

What I was asking was about the 185gr Burger, what would you suggest for a starting point?
