Looking to put one together in the near future and have a question. I will probably be using a savage action and will the magnum bolt head work for the short mag?? I know the dimensions are a little different between the 300 win and the 300 WSM, but don't know if the bolt head is same or not.

It should work because i have regular magnum bolt face on my Bats and shoot the WSM.

it worked on my rem 700. the only problem i am having, and i will fix that shortly, is that i need to remove the bolt to get the brass out. i rebarreled from .300 wm to .300 wsm and the wsm is fatter than the wm, so it hits the port and keeps it from ejecting
