Understand that this is not ideal. I am beginning to shoot PRS with my son, and we only have one rifle that is well suited for the task. It is a tweeked R700. I want to get my 300WM in the same condition rather than spend the money & build up another 308 (or 6.5). As I get it there, I need to be able to use it as a shooter.Yes, and your brass will last forever. However you are going to have a filthy soot filled barrel and a carbon ring that will need to be constantly watched and scrubbed.
IMO, That is not the way 300wm is supposed to be ran. Accuracy and performance is usually at close to top gear.
