6br, 12 twist with Bart's 80 grain.

That's a good combination for 300 IMHO. Might even try a 10 twist. There's a big bc jump when ya go from 80's up to the 87-95 class bullets and they still shoot very well, too. FWIW, I don't think the 80's give up a thing to 68's, even at 100. I've shot a bunch of both and really can't say one is better than the other in a good 12 twist bbl. But when I go to 200 or 300, the 80's have a small edge out there. Pull the trigger at the wrong time though, and neither will go where I want it. Lol!

That's beside the point. He brought what wins. You have to also realize that
the Tack Driver brings in the best of the best. And most of those bring a 6ppc
for that yardage. Now two time champion of Tack Driver series has been Bart
Sauter, and I do believe he shot both with the BRA. He out agged the score
component with it. Bottom line.....Even though Speedy won the group component,
Bart was further ahead in score. But we are talking a better group cartridge. Bart
Dang near had a third one. I like Speedy but would rather shoot like Bart.....LOL

I agree with you , for benchrest competition at the highest level. 6PPC is what’s winning. For someone who is dabbling in F class as well as benchrest at 300 yards I think a lot of folks would agree that a 6BR is more well rounded. Can take the same rifle and compete out to 1,000 yards. If I could have only one gun it would be a 6BR

Ive been typing in some numbers to ballistic calcs and was surprised at what you said but appears very true that the 68s don't give up much to the 80s.

Also surprising to me was that a berger 90bt at 3050 had better wind drift at 300 yards than a berger 108 at 2850. Only by a very little amount but still interesting.
