.300 WSM twist question.

Will a .300 WSM stabilize a 208 Amax in a 10 twist barrel???

1000+ yards is the goal, rock chucks and such only.


I`m admittedly out of my realm with the Howitzers.......

Yes it will stabilize them. I shoot 210VLD's in an 11 twist. Matt

210 VLDs in a 10 twist here, 2775 fps muzzle, works great at 1K.

I shoot 208s in a 10 twist wsm. They work well.

I shot 225 hornady AMP in my 11 twist, 300 WM and they shot very accurately.. But only tested them to 200 yds.... 210gr not a problem

Yes, last spring I was shooting 1275 yards with a WSM 208's with an 11 twist barrel.

Yep, same here. Bean out to to 1400 using the 208 a-max in a 11 twist.

I shoot 208 A-Max in my Bartlein 10 twist. I've been meaning to try out the expansion of these at long range.
Late last winter I noticed they were blowing huge holes into the frozen dirt back stop from 100 yards. And they absolutely grenade a milk jug at 500 yards compared to a 220 swift with a 50gr vmax.

Easily............I've shot them out to 1000 at sea level in my .308 FTR gun along with 210 VLDs in my 11 twist barrel with great results running a lot slower than you can run em in the 300 WSM........You should be good to go........

What kind of velocity numbers are you getting with the .300 WSM and the 208 Amax????

What is the .300 WSM 208 Amax powder of choice in your rifle????
