300 WSM Reamer Specs (based on 300 WSM WOW!)

OK, after reading the thread...300 WSM WOW!...great thread guys!
here are my questions for you guys.

I'm going to order a reamer from Manson for a 300 WSM.
It will be in a single shot short action, and I'll build a 300 WSM on a long action in the future with a magazine...
I'm going to stick with the 215 Bergers in the 300 WSM. (I get my fill of recoil from my 338 Edge, so no heavies with the 300 WSM)

So with the 215 Berger the freebore I want is ???... .225"?
How about the neck? I've never done neck turning, but I suppose I could start.

Your thoughts on a 300 WSM reamer specs with a 215 Berger in a single short, and or long action with a mag?

Thanks

I have never tried the .300WSM with a magazine, long or short action. However, in the single shot form, in that thread, I used a .337 neck and a .240 freebore. That freebore was done with a ZERO freebore and throated out to my specs with a 215 seated in a case exactly where I wanted it. It turns out to be .240. It works exceedingly well.. I like a neck that is turned to 12 thousandths on ALL my cartridges.

I built a 300 WSM SAMMI Spec chamber, on a Remington 700 Short action in a KRG Bravo chassis, Rock Creek barrel (boat anchor as some one calls them) It feeds well from the mags loaded at 2.882". That being said, I am giving up to much powder space in the short action and will build one on a long action soon. ShootDots (Ben) has the WSM figured out..

I also have a question pertaining to that informative thread. What brand brass was used. I honestly hope it was Winchester to prove there can be really good results available without breaking the bank on Nosler or Norma brass....Lol

Tim

I had better results using Winchester brass Over the Norma in my 300 WSM that you had chambered for me.

I bought the Winchester. Brownells had it for $30.99 per 50 and free freight on an order larger than $49.00 bucks. Got dies, bushing to go with it. Sent Chris (savageguy) a M.O. for his 33" 10" twist Krieger blank.

I believe you are going to be very pleased Tim!

Well barrel due today, but my old lathe is having surgery...lol. Motor died and am switching to 3 phase. Waiting on Baldor motor and Vortex VSD. Its only been down 1 week, and it sure has gotten boring without it.
