You will probably be ok with the 190 but they will out the neck pretty good. Might be a little short for 180. May be the 180 will shoot good jumping and you will be ok. I really like the 210 VLD hunting bullet. Mattballistic64 said:Im having one built right now using an ultramag long action from a sendero. I spec'd a freebore of .225 and planned on shooting 210s. Will this freebore still allow seating 180-190 gr bullets into the lands?

Berger lists the 230 Hybrid length as 1.64". I've shot six lots of these bullets and none have been that short. They range from 1.66-1.69". Most lots are ~1.665. The feedback from other shooters is that 215 Hybrids are ~1.575". My .280" freebore allows roughly .030" jump before contacting the donut. Since there is ~.090" difference between the two bullets, .280-.090=.190". [br]
My original calculations were done by laying out Bryan Litz's bullet drawing in 2D CAD software and ordering the reamer to match. This method arrived at similar numbers to those other folks have used.

Without having a 215 to measure, I cannot know the answer. I usually don't care about COAL unless entering data into QuickLOAD. My competition rifles are single shot, so the only dimension that matters is the relationship to the lands.
