300 wsm input

I just picked a 300wsm up I have 180 accubonds and barnes ttsx. Has anyone used N560 with much luck? How about h1000. I also have imr4350. I’m only allowed to have a coal of 2.83 due to magazine restrictions. This is going to be a hunting rifle any input would be greatly appreciated.

Powders that work well in the 300 WSM include RL-23, H4831SC, IMR 4451, and H4350. I have shot 168 grain TTSX and 215 grain Berger's with those powders.

So if it were me, from the powder the OP listed, I'd got with IMR 4350. That said, it's not too hard to find IMR 4451, and that powder produced three IBS 1000 yd heavy gun screamer groups for time this year in a 300 WSM.

The 168 TTSX, do you care to give any other details? Did you load that accoding to COAL from barnes? I can readily get those bullets and would have no issue shooting them. I think I will play around with IMR 4350.

I tried H4350 with 180 accubonds yesterday and the rifle didn't really seem to like them. I may try IMR 4350 with those as well.

N560 is just under reloder 22 and norma mrp in burn chart so i would expect it to be ok. 22 has been good in my wsm but i switched to 23 now. Reloder 17 was the stuff for the lighter bullets up to 180 grains or so. I used it with 185 juggernauts. 17 is close to imr 4350, So that would be good to try.

This can be part of a two fold problem; the rifle doesn't like the bullet or the rifle doesn't like the powder. Can be both since I tested both and found both to to be lacking in different rifles. I gave up shooting Accubonds for the most part, then I gave up on H-4350 quite a while ago when Hodgdon couldn't get the supply line right then either. The IMR-4350 lot I have currently is doing fine under the correct conditions and is excellent in the WSM with the 180 gr. bullets.

If you have difficulty finding loads for the Accubonds to get the groups you want, switch to the Berger 180 grain Elite Hunter. In Stock:

Best of Luck with your testing!:)

3047 FPS, 24" barrel, 64ish grains of H4350, .010 to .020" off the lands.

I’ve had encouraging results with 180 Scirocco II and RL23. So, I would suspect N560 will perform well.

+1 on this!

My rifle is only for hunting and I have no experience with bullets over 180 nor with N560, but for 150-180 class bullets, RL 17 is my go to.
I tried rl17 today with 165 and 180 ttsx. Ended up with three groups that can be covered with nickel or dime at 100 yards.

Stretch it out to 200 and 300 to see if it holds up.

I had a RL16 load that was 0.4 moa at 100 but would not hold together at 200 + yards
