300 WSM and Berger 215 Hybrids

Anyone out there having any success shooting the Berger 215 hybrids in their light or heavy gun ? Describe your rifle and what powder you are using.

I use H4831SC with BR2 primers, looks as if I may have to change to 215LM's . Don't know if it's a stout load as I use h4831SC with 65.5 behind a 210 JLK. My HG has 30" Broughton 5c barrel with a Viper action. Is anyone shooting more powder ?

I don't shoot 215s but my load with 230 Hybrids is ~2930 with IMR 7828 SSC. Chamber has .280" freebore for OAL of 3.260" with .015 jump. It's a new rifle and I will likely shoot it in a 3X600 on 30 March and LR weekend 6-7 April. It is grouping very well with ES a little more than my Shehane.

My memory not to good chrono them last year but pretty sure was in the mid 2800's fps. Going to range later in the week will let you know the fps with the 210 grn and the Berger hybrid 215's.

Yeah that IMR 7828SC will get you some more velocity. How much of this powder do you use in your load ? I have shot 70 grns behind a 190 SMK.

My best results are at 68.6 for ~2930 from 34" barrel. I'm going to run a short series around that load to validate it but it looks good at this point. No pressure signs, pretty good ES and excellent accuracy.

Hey Sleepygator what primer are you using to light off the powder ? I would guess you use Norma brass.

I don't know. I've never shot it in a 30" barrel. I use the 34" barrel primarily to add mass. Velocity is not as important to me as accuracy, ballistic coefficient and gun handling. But, if there are a few more fps, I'll take them. [br]
QuickLOAD says 4" is worth ~70 fps.
