300 WM wildcat?

I just purchased some brass off a guy that was his dads. I received some 300 win mag brass and noticed that all the brass was head stamped the same but a few of the pieces appeared to be formed to be a wildcat of some kind. I had never heard of a 300 mag wildcat so here I am. It is still 30 caliber but unsure what could have been formed for. The guy said he didn’t know either.
Thanks
Jameson

Every factory cartridge has been wildcatted multiple times. The one in your photo appears to address the somewhat common criticism of the 300 Winchester’s short case neck.

I’ve read about wildcat going up in diameter and going down but do you have any ideas of what may have been being attempted with this case?

There have been so many wildcats built off that case it’s hard to say what he was making. He may have been shoving the shoulder back to make 7mm or .264 and just never got any further than shoving the shoulder back. Best thing in my opinion is through it in the scrap bucket as you know nothing about it.
