300 Win Mag Hunting rifle is Complete !

Here is the details -

Thanks to Ryan Pierce who supplied the action, trigger, bottom metal, and misc parts for the build. He had them in stock and is a stand up guy full of knowledge. Deal with confidence.

This rifle machine work was done by Lee Gardner of LGP. Lee is a great to deal with and I highly recommend. His work is top rate and he was tolerant of my rifle building OCD haha. Thank you Lee!

The rifle specs - built with a new 300 win mag RM reamer that I learned about From the long range guys at LRH. Throated for 215 Berger hybrid. Kelbly Atlas action, Wyatt’s MBE-3 Box, Hawkins BDL bottom metal, bix N andy tacsport trigger, Brux Remington Varmint Contour finished at 28 and fluted by Brux, little beast 3 port muzzle brake and Mcmillan Remington hunter stock with sniper fill. Gun has ultralite NF rings and a NXS 5.5-22x50 MOAR-T reticle. Totoal weight is 11.75 lbs.

I have 7 rounds Thru this rifle and have attached the group from
Shots 5, 6, and 7.

There is nothing more to say.

Thanks for all those that helped.
Brandon

Beautiful and functional hunting rifle. It wants to go to Africa. :D

I second Ryan's expertise and good man to share information.

I am running H1000 powder. My OAL is roughly 3.740. I am using a reamer set up for the 215 hybrid. I am unsure of the speed but it’s over 3000 for sure with the 28 inch barrel. fed GM215M and Norma brass.

I’m at 3.620” with a berger 210 hunting vld. Running 2857 fps av in a 24” tube. Absolute hammer on whitetails. DRT kills the norm.

Update: 350 yards on the gong, 2972 fps, left shot is cold bore clean bore shot followed by the second closer two. Overall group was 1.2 inches with second two 3/4 apart. Time to hunt! Round count = 10

Shots 11,12 and 13 at 600 yards. Strelock called for 9.1 MOA, I dialed 9 and sent 3. Group ended up being low 2.5 inches and right 8 inches. Will adjust drop chart for 9.25 MOA and call it good. Two were about an inch apart with one being further out. Overall group was 3 inches. Off bipod and rear bag prone. less than prime conditions this am, Heavy mirage with frost burning off and I really had trouble getting parallax dialed out and getting a clear site picture.

You might want to experiment with different primers to try and tune some of the vertical out of that group. Nice shooting.

I think the nut running trigger could use the tuning. I will re-shoot multiple times before I make any drastic adjustments. Unfortunately I struggle with some eye issues and precision aiming can be difficult somedays.
