I always loaded 200gr bullets with H4831 or Norma MRP at about 2950-3000 depending on your barrel length. Those powders also work well with the 180 gr class bullets. You can save yourself a lot of components by choosing the eldx of your choice and h4831. It us another matter if you want to experiment but your throat will grow a lot after 500 rounds

A stiff dose of H4831 under the Hornady 212 ELDx will serve you well in a 300 Wby. The 212 is a monster bullet. RL-26 is also good but near unobtainable.

I usually stray from the beaten path so I'm using:

176 A-Tips/ Re-23
180 Swift Scirocco/ Re-23
195 Badlands Super BD2/ VVN-565 (or Re-23)

This chamber has a custom throat and freebore so it won't match your factory rifle.

With the Badlands, I'm good to 1,000 yards if I choose and if the wind cooperates...

Enjoy!

:)

I've gotten the best accuracy with IMR4831 with my Mark V. I'm using 165gr Partition for whitetail, but I do have some 180gr Accubond loaded. A few guys I've talked with at gunshops said either IMR4831 and/or H4831 were their powder of choice in a 300wby.

IMR7828SSC has yet to impress me, just makes the barrel hot. Groups don't seem to change with powder charge, and that is across Barnes TSX, Partition, and Accubond loads.

I have IMR4350, but I haven't given it a try yet.

I have several pounds of H4831sc IMR 4831 and my H1000 came in. This barrel will last me. I don't shoot my bigger rifles alot. But if I ever do. I would like a Proof Research 1@8.5 or 1@9 26 inch barrel on it. My new wby has a 26-inch spiral flutted barrel. And a muzzle brake too.
