.300 Win Mag Brass/Data

I just picked up a rifle chambered in .300 Win Mag and looking for any load data for 200 to 230 grain projectiles. Brass seems to be limited to Norma, Nosler, Hornady and Federal and not sure which one to start with...any input would be greatly appreciated.

My rifle really likes 77.0gr H-1000, Fed 215M Primers, Berger 210 VLD's with a good jump, and Federal brass. The Norma brass is a lot lighter than the Federal, but case weight is far more consistent. Brass life is good with this load.

I have a few of the other brands you mentioned but have not really tested them.

Best of luck!

Nosler Brass, Berger 215 Hybrid, 71.5gr IMR 7828 SSC, CCI 250

2980 fps from 28” Bartlein. Very accurate out to 1500 yds.

The .300 win mag brass has the most variance of case capacity I have ever seen in a cartridge from brass mfg to mfg. I have personally measured from 89 grains h2o to 93.5. Beware of working up a load in the larger cases and then stuffing that same load in a smaller one. Measure your case capacities and know the difference. Better yet, stick with one brand of brass.

With 208's, Ramshot Magnum has been my powder using Federal and Winchester brass. My best load was at 79.7 grains using WLRM primers and loaded to 3.420". It produced a considerably larger accuracy node than H1000 in my rifle.

I have heard good things about the quality of Peterson brass. @bbarber25

Peterson is the best brass I’ve used, Nosler was junk, I wouldn’t recommend it at all. My go to load is a 215 Berger Hybrid on top of H1000, run it at 3,030fps in my 28” Hart

Tomorrow I will start the search for the load for my new 28" Bergara barrel.
Norma cases, Fed 215GM, Berger 215 Hybrid and starting load 75,0gr. of Norma MRP-2. Will see...

Norma brass, 230 Berger OTM tactical, Federal 215M, 73.0 gr H1000, 2775 fps. Jumping 0.005". Fits in long AICS magazines. Fabulous.

Don't forget imr 7828. Old but good. I get slightly better accuracy with it in my two 300 wm versus h1000 with 210-215gr bullets. I was using Rem brass but i got my hands on 200 Peterson brass this fall.
I'll be working new loads with these this Spring.

I aint got a Win Mag but Daddy and my older brother both have and that RWS brass IMO is better than Lapua,,

Daddy shoots the 180 Partition and 7828 and Ronnie shoots the 200 Accubond and H1000
