.300 rum load?

OK so this is getting out of hand! i have a 300 rum. I'm trying to work up a load for it and its getting costly. I'm looking for long rang accuracy. i need to know a good powder for it and a good bullet weight. i was using accubond 200gr. with rl25 powder
and they were getting hot at 88.5 gr. and shooting about 2.25moa at 200yrds, and i did not crimp. any ides will help thank you

Long range accuracy for paper or game?

Retumbo is your friend. It was designed for the Ultras.

I dont understand the hot part...I used 94 gr Rx-25 with 200 gr sierras SBT's and shot undr 1-moa out to 300 yds...Rem 700..factory gun...I alos had good luk with heavy charges of N-560 and 165...in my feeble mind the big boomers dont shoot accurately till you 'push' em a lot...Roger

all guns differ in chamber size mine is just tight was getting hot load half way up the load chart and by hot i mean stuck cases
and mushroomed primers and groups to big for my liking. my goal is to get a slower powder and work with that
for the long rang paper and yotes.
thanks

I agree completely Roger! I have dabbled with a couple .300RUM's and they both shot the best with a 210 Berger jumping and pushed with around 91 grains of RE25

Mine's happiest with 96.0 gr. of RL25 under a 180 Accubond,Remington Cases & Winchester WLRM Primers & seated to fit magazine). That load gives consistant groups of 1.00-1.25' at 200 yards. The rifle started out to be a used rifle bought to rebarrel to another caliber but I couldn't bring myself to do it after shooting it.

In my Remmie 700 and Montana 1999 I found best accuracy/long range performance with the Accubond 200gr and RL25 @ between 3150fps and 3225fps. Use a quality chronograph and work up carefully, these big cases stress the bolt/action and our eyes are precious.

yes retumbo is your best bet.had the same problems till i switch to retumbo.was shooting 210bergers with 93.5 grs at 3230fps. shot 4.5 in at 1000yds. start lower and work up.

+2 i agree, i was shooting 210 bergers with 92grs RL25 out of a sako 300RUM with no pressure signs, i wonder if the problem could be found in the chamber itself or the brass, i would inspect both, clean both, and maybe polish the chamber and see if things improve, i'm not an expert just some things ive ran across myself..
