300 rum into a 416 Remington?

Could be a wildcat based on the weatherby 460 case or any of the weatherby cartridges. What made you think 30 rem ultra mag ? A 460 on a mauser is really pushing it , I dont know if itll even fit the 1.10 “ tenon and have enough wall thickness for safety . Could be a 30/338 , 308 norma mag or 300 weatherby .
Ive got a few early weatherby 300s on FN actions . Not much room . P14-17s with the larger tenon were safer .
It was advertised as a 300 rum. I got ahold of a 300 rum empty case and the bolt closes on it. So the chamber is At least that big. Thinking about a 416 caliber, 460 is bigger then I want to go. I had a 458 lott and I moved it along, it was in a synthetic stock and I don’t really mind recoil but that was a lot.!!! I swear that was what the Lott part stood for.

If I remember correctly, Lorenzo was a late 60 to late 70s gunbuilder . Maybe even older . Was after weatherby used fn mausers , both from California. Again , going from memory.
I did find a phone number in Modesto for a GL Lorenzo gunsmith and left a message. Google doesn’t turn up much. But then again the local gunmaker here in western Montana doesn’t even have a cell phone so not everyone has been dragged into the 21st century!! Lol

Finished project is back from the Gunsmith. Thank you all who commented on this post!! Since it’s finally a nice sunny Day here in Montana ( finally!) I grabbed a picture out side. Wound up going 416 ruger. I’ll add some more pictures and do a little write up in the Big caliber section.
