300 PRC Donor

Considering a new build using a donor Remington 700. Which caliber is best suited to switch over to a 300 PRC? Needs to be a long action with a .532" bolt face. Was thinking that the standard box magazine of the 300 WM might be a little short for the 300 PRC. Are their better choices, assuming re-chambering the donor's 30 cal barrel?

The SAMMI spec for a PRC is longer than the factory mag box on a Remington so you'll need a Wyatt box or mags. I'd rather use a Ultra mag action but you can't rechamber the barrel to PRC.

Max SAAMI spec was put there for a specific reason and it wasn't for off the shelf factory rifles. Factory ammo works in standard length mags. You might consider using a reamer with a shorter throat. You can use either a WM or RUM action. My hunting rifle is on a WM action. Feeds great.
