700 SA/clone question

I know that Remington chambered the 40x single shot in 7mm RM and 300 WM. I am considering building a single shot LR rifle on a 700 sa or clone in a Eliseo R1 chassis in 300 PRC. My question is what is the longest loaded round that will chamber in a short action?

Youll hate a short action for anything 284 size and up

I shot a 40X in .300 Win Mag. Until the Navy gave me a McMillian to shoot. Fought the 40X all the time. Could not eject a loaded round. Had to pull the bolt. Kinda hard being in a sling and prone. Git the Eliseo in a long action and be happy.
