300 Norma, the WRONG Way......

I said to my boss "I thought we weren't getting any more of those light contour carbon barrels?" He said "we did, but that one was ordered before."

I had a hard time chambering that skinny carbon barrel, but got it done. I then threaded the muzzle and timed the brake. The barreled action then went into a chassis, then it was cerakoted. I was stuck doing most of the load development.

Against all odds it shot well. We finished load development and then the customer told us he wanted to shoot it suppressed. We checked the load it liked with the brake, but it didn't shoot well with the suppressor.

The rifle came back to me to shoot. I remeasured the throat and came up with a couple of loads. Went to the range today.

I don't like chassis. I don't like skinny carbon barrels. I don't like suppressors. I don't like having to use the external trigger for the lab radar.

The rifle kept jumping out of the front rest. The scope kept tagging me. The stupid thumb rest on the chassis hit me in the lip. Yeah, I know, don't free recoil a 300 Norma.

With all that, It shot a .47 something, a .43 something, then this one. There has to be an easier way.......
