I hope to use some IMR 7977 & Hornady 225 ELD-M to fire form Lapua 300 Norma brass. This is in a barrel chambered by Alex on a Bat HR. I can't find any reference to this. Burn rate seems close to H1000 on paper. Can anyone offer QL data for this? Or have experience? Thanks!

With my experience imr 7977 is very close to h1000 loads usually the same but I've seen in certain cases imr 7977 was hotter. I would just take h1000 and take off 2 grains and work up to make sure.

Do you have enough to fire 800+ rounds?
Do you have any other powders that might work?

I've been using IMR 7977 to fireform brass in my barrel that Alex also chambered.
I chose that powder because its been discontinued and wanted to use it up.
Used Lapua brass, Berger 210 VLD's and Sierra 210's over 80 grs with them jammed .015".
No pressure signs, they average 2900+ fps out of a 30" Kreiger 1-9" twist.

I had bought IMR 7977 for a different rifle but it didn't work out as well as alternatives.
I loaded some in my Wheeler 300NM 35˚IMP with 215 Hybrids and forgot I did. Then a friend needed the powder and I sold it to him. Anyway, I shot some of that ammo in WY last summer and the accuracy at 1800 yards blew me away. Oh well.
