300 Norma Improved 35 degree

I think Brux barrels are one of the Best.
Just get your twist and grooves Right.

What weight are you looking for, I have a lite varmint on one of my 300RUMS.
And it is a Brux 9twt and is a Great barrel, 28".

What weight bullet are you wanting to use.

I am wanting a 32" finish length 9"twist Heavy Palma or HV barrel. I have a box of about 450 Sierra 240gr MK to start with. Bartlein was nine months out when I talked to them this afternoon. I only want to buy one quality barrel in the next couple months.

Prayers appreciated...

Just buy there sizer die then buy a forster 300 norma seater die have the sleeve reamed or I believe you can use the straight 300 norma seater from rcbs someone talked about that die a few pages back
This!
My 6bra seater was originally a 6BR.

It’s not difficult at all to do.

So, I have a lot of RL33 and Berger 215 Hybrids and need some good data for the 300NM 35˚ IMP.
What'cha got???

RL33 is too slow for the 215gr in my opinion. That bullet is better suited for powders in the H1000 burn rate area. N570 is the slowest powder i would say should be used with the 215gr.

RL33 is a very dirty burning powder too. Never seen so much carbon and soot!

And this fast; one last question. What trigger would you all recommend?
Depends on what the intended purpose for the rifle is…

For me, it’s Bix’n Andy all the way.
Their “BR” model tuned by Alex Wheeler is an amazing trigger for bench rifles. For sporting rifles, I install the “TacSport PRO” model triggers on everything. Phenomenal pieces of precision engineering. Guaranteed to impress.

Thanks.

It will be shooting locally at two different 1000 yard ranges, and a chance to shoot out to 1000/2600 yards occasionally. And a chance to extend my Rockchuck shooting record of 1017yds first shot hit and kill.

So, better suited to my 338LM with the 300 grain bullets then?

I was at the SHOT Show the year Savage introduced the 338 LM. I convinced them to send one home with me for testing. I have not shot it much, less than 50 rounds with factory (Lapua) ammunition. It seemed pretty accurate, about 3/4moa at 100 and 200.

One of these days I should probably sell it...

Alex,

can I assume the same holds true for the 240 and 245gr bullets in my 300NMI?

thanks for the tremendous amount of wisdom and experience you share here. You have likely cut six months off of my learning curve here on the 300.
