Agreed, but like Alex said, he has heard of bullet failures from all brands. My limited experience on moose (3 taken) is the old Nosler partition 200 grain .30 cal bullet ( a semi-round nose) from a 30-06 at about 2500 fps muzzle has worked unfailingly.Its really hard to beat Nosler partition for hunting.
They shoot well and always expand and leave an exit wound.
I had a permit last year and have run out of those profile 30 cal. 200s. So, I bought some 220 grain semi- round nose partitions, they call them semi-spitzer now (guess round nose is taboo these days) and developed a load for a 308 Norm Mag at just under 2600 fps. Rifle and bullet shot very well. Unfortunately, we saw no bulls ( cows only). They grouped (3 shots) at 1.25" at 100 yds and with a 4" holdover 1.75" actual spread at 200. Browning FN Safari rifle.
