30-6.5prc

Just about to send my reamer print back to JGS, but first just wanted to ask about some differences between the Manson Print (30 SPRC ST RG1) Re Sandstorm info
the .200" line JGS = 0.5350 & Manson 0.5348"
Shoulder Diam. .5176" V's 0.516"
Overall Chamber JGS = 2.0400" V's 2.0200"
Throat Diam. JGS 0.3085" V's 0.3088"
just want to make sure there are no issues with Clikers, something mentioned on the Mason Drawing and l will try a Wilson FL sizing die to start with.
Thank you for you input and advice
Ken

I Got my 6.5-7 PRCW Reamer from JGS with a .535 at the .200 line and im using the Short Action
Customs modular bushing dies. ( Awesome die's )
No Clickers so far and dont anticipate any with Alex Wheelers design reamer print.
You can always talk with JGS about your deal and discuss.
You will need to seat above the donut, or ream them out.

Go with the 2.0200 OAL - Or you'll have much room in the neck/freebore junction. Is it a problem.. probably not.. but something to be aware of.

After FF Lapua cases will be less than 2.200, about 2.190, so the 2.200 OAL is OK for the 30. The 7 is about 2.025 after FF so that is why he has 2.040. As for the diameters at the .200 line, it is literally a 2 tenths of a thousands difference, which is actually smaller than the amount of tolerance the reamer maker's put on the their prints, either is fine. .3085 or .3088, in my opinion, you will never know a difference. .3088 would be good for bullets that measure slightly over the nominal .308 dia.

With long bullets they both belong in a medium to long action...the 300rcm is the parent case for the 6.5 prc....prc is 2.030 case length the rcm is 2.1....

I made one because I had a short action with a magnum bolt face and I wanted to use Lapua brass. That narrowed down my choices.

I think the best comparison would be the 300 RSAUM, in terms of length and fit. With an SA extended magazine, the 30-6.5 PRC, is a good fit up to about 180 gr bullets. If I wanted to run the higher BC 190's and 200's, a medium action would be much better. But I don't have one of those, atm.

The parent is probably the 338 RCM. The 6.5 PRC is simply a necked down 338 RCM. If you do the trig on the headspace, the difference is a rounding error (.000081 in favor of the RCM). The body dimensions are the same otherwise.

Because of the extra body length of the 300 RCM, it is handicapped in a SA, much like a WSM.
