30-284 ?

Anybody familiar with this round and worked with it. velocitY with mid weight bullets like 135 to 155 maybe. I refuse to do a boring 308 or the long skinny boring 30 1906.

I have never had one but shot against a guy who shot one. His was very accurate and said it was a great compermise between the 308 and the 300WM. Sorry I don't have any more info on it.

The Meyer version is a shortened case, not full length.

I played with a full length 30-284 in my Hunter Benchrest rifle. Lapua brass and 118-125's @ 3400-3450 from a 21" Lilja 1:17 with Re15 and N140. It was very accurate, although it's a better balanced cartridge with a 150 gr. bullet.

It delivers all the performance of a 30-06 but in a smaller package.
