Does anyone have velocity figures for 155 gr up to 190 gr8.

Stan, I would guess with the right free bore it should have the same velocity as a 30-06. check the the water capacity of the two cases..... jim

It's very popular in french country . You can take also the Swiss 7.5x55 to form it very good quality brass (Norma ,RWS or Ruag).Like
the 7.5x55 ,the 30/284 is very accurate !

Well Benz I couldn't find any help here as far as where to start,I hit the cases with a mediocre load in the middle with 30/06 load data for the 155 Palma,after that I just went up about a grain at a time, I never did receive pressure but what was interesting R-16 and 4350 Hodgdon with the same powder charge is about 65 feet per second difference between the two, the R16 was faster so that tells me the burn rate of R16 is just a fuzz faster then Hodgdon 4350.

not sure 30.06 will take a 155 to 3200.

RL17 is a magical thing in a 30-06

EDIT: I haven't chrono'd my RL17 155gn SMK load, but it is significantly flatter at 600 yards than the old faithful IMR 4350 load.

I had the 155 Palma a little over 3120 fps yesterday going to play with Berger 200x20x today after it warms up a bit. I'm looking for pressure an then I will work on accuracy.

Well it's a little cool here this morning, I screwed off my13 twist and screwed on my 9 twist,for the 30-284 and shot 10 Rounds to break the Barrel in and shot a couple powder charges no pressures at 2775 fps with the 200 by 20 x hybrids I will dedicate those 5 cases 2 pressure problems then I will start tuning.P.S. here is a pic of the first 10 rounds out of the new 9 twist.
