.30-06 Load using H4831SC and 165 grain bullet?

With the lack of 4350 in my area, I am looking to see if anyone has experience with using H4831SC for this bullet weight. I have several pounds of it and wanting to see if anyone has some personal experience they can share using it in .30-06 for hunting application. Shooting a Tikka factory rifle. Not much on the site about it. Speer lists it in their manual with a max load of 62 grains. Thanks.

Got access to imr4064? Or ramshot hunter? Had good luck and high velocity with 4064 with light 150 gr pills and good accuracy with heavy pills with hunter powder in 3006.

H4831 and 165 gr 30-06 are a good pairing for peak accuracy and decent speed. H4350 will get you up close to 2930 in a 24" barrel and H4831 is around 2850 FPS max or so. Animal won't know.

Depending on COAL, max load might be compressed with 165 gr bullet.
Quickload shows 63.5 gr generates 58,800 psi with 165 gr Hornady or Sierra BTSP, but with Nosler Accubond at the same COAL of 3.34" the same charge of 63.5 gr generates 66,000 psi.

I personally use H-4831sc in many instances where most folk think it's too slow burning for the application. But always worked up with superb accuracy.

I went to the reloading store and they finally had 4350! All set. Bought some Hornady SST 165's and will be working up some loads this weekend. Thank you for all of your comments. Looking forward to finding a nice Mule Deer in November!
