Just returned from my wv deer hunt with my son. Just at dusk a small group of does popped out. I was hunting with my favorite hunting rifle. A mauser 98 in 257 roberts ai shooting a barnes 80 gr TTSX. I put the crosshairs just behind the shoulder and touched it off. Walked down there and found 2 deer. The bullet entered exactly as aimed. Passed thru, hit another doe behind the first in the left eye and exited from the right ear. She was dead before her knees buckled. Sometimes its better to be lucky than good.
My son took a 7 pt and a doe in 20 seconds with his 6.5 needmoor and a 80 gr hammer hht. We found the bullet under the hide on the off side, petals missing, as designed. He said, you just had to beat my 20 second 2 deer record didnt ya.
