.284 Win Match Reamer specs...

??'s for the .284 Win experts...

Any info from this print, insofar as what it's been designed "around"- Lapua brass necked up? Neck turning needed (isn't .315 on the tight side)? Freebore looks to be shorter than I'd expect (?)- any idea what boolit(s)?

Planning a .284 Win build, but just starting to read up on the nuances of getting it "right" for a LR target chamber. Appreciate any info

The body suits "lapua", I would be turning with that neck and the free bore is too short for 180 style bullets.
My no turn match reamer has a 0.317" neck and a 0.220" free bore.

Thanks, confirms what i was thinking...
Picked up the reamer at a steep discount (new, PTG). Probably well suited for 160 class bullets (believe it or not, still have a dozen boxes of my favorite 162 Amax's that I shoot in my 7-08), or I could throat after for heavies.

I'm tempted to grab a 98 Mauser action, true it up and see if I can build a capable LR stick off it. The 98 action length seems to be perfect for this "intermediate" length cartridge.

I just ordered a 284 Norma Lapua finish reamer with a 320 neck and 235 freebore. It’s for a Norma 284 brass no turn. I wanted to shoot the 180 and 184 Berger hybrids. The print reference is 5dc8619b. It’s a pacific tool and gauge.

If you can buy the reamer on the cheap, you can always use a throating reamer to get the exact length freebore you want.
