Well this thread has been most enlightening. I've been chasing a 'node' @ 2850fps with a new 284 Win and it's been a struggle trying to get consistent groups. I bought a completed rifle in 284 and it was very comfortable at the 2850 node. Shot very well and single digit SDs every time with H4350. Guess I assumed my new rifle I just received would be close to that.
After reading this I went back to my ladder test and realized that I had completely ignored 2 much flatter areas on my ladder test at 2750 and 2780 (forehead smack). It was right there and I completely ignored it.
Back to the drawing board but with a lot more encouragement than yesterday because it all makes sense now. Rookie mistake.
