284 Win barrel life

Is anyone willing to share a long barrel life reload recipe?

I know every barrel is different but I like to know what is normal so that if I'm off, I know I have an issue somewhere.

My load development will start with a ladder beginning well below max, I just want lots of data points to look at.

My barrel is going to be a 31" X-Caliber, brass Lapua 6.5-284 necked up and bullets Berger 184 or 180 grain.

Run the 180 class bullets around 2850+ and you'll get best barrel life with H4831sc. I only run the 160 class bullets but push the around 2950. Running RL17 so guessing mileage will be worse.

Myself and almost all the HM guys I shoot with (several on US Team) won’t even keep going with a barrel after about 1600, maybe 1700 max. Spin it off, spin a new one on and go again. By the end of SOA/Nationals I will have killed 3-4 barrels this year already. Barrels are consumable, no different than bullets and powder. I just suck up the cost and move on.
