Not sure what Ringostar is referring to, but I'd ignore his comments.
It's a straight 284 with some custom changes designed by @Alex Wheeler based on a crap ton of his own iterative testing. I emphasize "iterative" because it means buying many $200+ reamers with slight changes, just to observe the effect of a given change.
I don't reveal the changes because I don't know them. Even if I did, I wouldn't reveal them against Alex's wishes because I'm not a dick. And people who bitch about not getting that information for free have obviously never spent copious amounts of their own time and money pushing the envelope of innovation. IMO.
If you'd like to try it, Alex will chamber one for you. Along with the reamer design, you'd be getting one of the best chamber jobs available.
Anyone can shoot it, if they want to. Just give Alex a call.
Jay is in my opinion one of the top F-class tuners. Thats why I asked him to test this reamer design first. A lot goes into something like this and its a team effort to work through it.Not sure what Ringostar is referring to, but I'd ignore his comments.

Not looking for specifics, but this would leave me to believe that this geometry is specific to a particular bullet of interest, also taking into account the pressure/velocity specific to the 284?Yes its a standard 284 case with some changes mostly in the throat (not everything is on the print). JGS names everything after you. I have a bunch of "284 Wheeler" reamers. I have never released this print to anyone. There are multiple reasons. Yes, it takes time and money to figure stuff out. Also its not a one size fits all. You can't apply the same thing to other bullets/cartridges and expect similar results. In fact its been a failure in other cartridges.
Won't know until I get some in hand. But I will order a 284 wheeler in a to turn. In my opinion turning wont be necessary once we get brass that wont need to be necked up. I have a lot of BR shooters switching to no turns as well.Seeing that Lapua is going to make the 284 case now, what do you think the loaded case neck will measure on the unturned necked brass?
Thanks for the reply Alex, looking forward to your findings on the new brass!Won't know until I get some in hand. But I will order a 284 wheeler in a to turn. 284 does not come in a small primer case design.Lapua’s description doesn’t say, but assuming it is large primer brass?https://www.lapua.com/cases/284-winchester/
