.284 Shehane Primers

What primers are you using in your .284 Shehane?
Have you tried CCI BR, Federal 210M , Federal Magnum Match, WLR?

I originally used Wolf KVB-7 LR but now use TulAmmo KVB-7. They are made in the same arsenal and there is no performance difference that I have seen. In most applications, I've found CCI BR2 interchangeable with Russian LR.

CCIBR2, they have a thicker cup and can take more pressure. The accuracy is very consistent with low SD over the chronograph.

LR primers actually have fairly uniform cup thicknesses. The cup can be drawn to a little harder material condition but must remain sufficiently ductile to allow obduration and accommodate the firing pin strike without fracturing. The attached image is the old Calhoon chart showing primer cup dimensions. While SR primers are all over the place, LR primers are pretty uniform. [br]
I agree with your statement about CCI BR2 performance characteristics.
