For the past two mornings at day light I've been out at the range fine tuning the 284 Shehane beginning with seating depth and today neck tension.
Today I tested same loads with neck tension by using bushings .307, .306, and .305 the load is 57.5 grains of H4831sc and a F210m primer.
The target below represents each bushing, via color marked on the target by the bullets.
The bare holes the bushing used is a .307 and showed verticle. The red holes are with the .306 bushing and the blue is the .305 bushing. As you see as the bushing got tighter the group did as well.
I stumbled along with maybe a slower velocity the other day so in the morning I'm going to back my load back down and see if it's still there. I'm hoping to find the best of both worlds accuracy and velocity but if I have to choose between the two the accuracy is going to win every time.
Here's the target shot at 500 yards
Here's the rifle and setup.
Here's the range I shoot at. Berms are 100,200,300 and 500 yards
Here's the long range side, berms are 100, 600, 750, 1000, and 1250 yards you can't see the 100 yard berm in the pics, but it's mandatory to shoot 100 first then 600 to get your zero on the rifle. Some 6000 yards back is a state park so that's why its mandatory. Also at 600,1000 and 1250 yards we have a wireless camera setup to see the shots.
