284 Shehane Ladder Test

My 284 Shehane ,180 bergers hybrids, 53 grs. of H 4350, wolf primers, I am getting 2904 +/- 3 fps consistently, with a great water line. She shoots lights out still with 1200 rounds down the tube. Just picked up another 284 shehane with two new barrels for next spring but have not gotten around to testing it yet.
Gotta love the 284 straight or Shehane.

52.1 gives me 2820fps in a 28 inch barrel. Checked with a magnetospeed ms3 and a Labradar. It hammers there and is easy on brass. Found out on another barrel using 52.6 for 2870fps this is about the limit befor primer pockets open up after 6-8 firings. If this one stays slow it might be a candidate for running 168’s. 2930fps is easy and fairly mild with about 52-53gr powder.
