Well, in a 32" barrel a 6.5-06 AI will push a 147 ELD over 3400 FPS. Just saying.

3400 fps is unbelievable. Especially from an Ackley 6.5-06. If you achieved that speed, cool. Just hard to believe. At any rate, even at a realistic 3200-3250 with a 147 eld, that's smoking for a bullet with those ballistic numbers. It would be a great cartridge for the OP and his goal.

The 243 has long been a dear friend of mine but she seems to be a little hard on barrels , although no 6mm shooting 3000+ is very kind to steel it seems the 243ai is of the most compatible along with the dasher. They both do very well at those ranges with fewer groceries.

RL 26 will push a 140 3300 out of a 6.5-06AI in a 26" tube. In 32" I don't see how 3400 isn't achievable.

That's awesome. Never would have thought that speed is achievable from any 06 Ackley.
