I love the 284 it hits like a magnum and is deadly accurate!! For you guys wanting to build a light weight hunting rifle and looking to use a mag go with the Magaul set up. It works fantastic!!! I have them on all of my rifles now. They feed like glass and you can buy one with a mag for $65. Buy the one for the long actin magnum for the 284.

I did something similar and went with a 7-08 on a long action. I get 2875 with 140's and 2720 with 162's. Wish I would have went 284.

You can always have the chamber opened up,the 284 case being larger diameter. As I said in opening post.My Barnes is going out at 2850 and plenty potent for anything out there......
