.280 Remington Loads

I've always used a modest load of RE22 in both standard .280's and also .280 AI with good success (most any 120-140 grain bullet). Perhaps JeffPPC will chime in. . . . .

Have an older Remington 700 stamped 280 Remington. As it is a hunting rifle, stopped shooting regularly after getting load that I was happy with. Hornady 139 flat base bullet with 58.0 grains of H4831 and a Federal LR Gold Medal Match primer. Use a similar load in both my 7-06 AI's, with results that I am satisfied with. Call me old school but have always liked H4831 in my 06 based rifles.

One of my .280’s likes a heavy load of R22 with the 140’s. The other Prefers R19 with same bullet.

I shot 160g Nosler partitons at 2900 in mine, IMR 7828, Fed 210 primers, Remington brass. The load is the accuracy load in Nosler manual #4.

I run Sierra 140 Gamekings over RL 22 with excellent results. Running right around 3000 fps , lights out on deer at any sane range.
