280 AI case dimensions

Hi guys
Looking for some help from 280 AI shooters. I have browsed most threads via search . PMed a couple people . Has anyone used RWS 270 win brass to form cases ? Dimensions in factory form ? I can’t find any specs for it online . Any dimensions on Nosler AI brass ? Specifically looking at brass oal , neck wall thickness . I had a reamer spun up , actually for Lapua 30-06 brass ( thanks expiper ) to use in f class rifle . Chamber is basically min spec Sami 280AI body with shorted neck to accommodate Lapua 30-06 brass or any 30-06 based parent . Will have to use false neck on 06 and 270 or trim 280 or Nosler AI brass . Sami chamber is 2.560 chamber length or .386 neck length , expipers print is 2.520 chamber length and has .344 neck . Dave Kiff helped him design it . If anyone has info , tips on the above , or load data with 180+ bullets it would be greatly appreciated .

So you are building a 7mm-06 AI, and not a 280 AI. So where is the case datum line falling. Saami for 280AI is 2.1400 to 2.1500 on camber drawing. P.O. Ackley never designed the 280AI, didn't come out till after his death. He did do a 7mm-06 AI. this comes from Kenny Jarrett of Jarrett Rifles, he met and became friends with P.O. Ackley before he died. Kenny relayed the story that P.O. had told him that he never designed the 280 AI. Also you can download the SAAMI specs at their website, that where I got the Datum line info.

Datum is 3750/ 2.140 that is correct ( have Saami print from Manson ) , it’s 280 improved Saami body . Only change is neck is shortened from 386 to 342 / 313 turned neck . I have read most of the articles regaurding headspace between traditional and Nosler AI ( Saami ) version . Just looking at other brass options for my chamber . I got specs for RWS 270 win brass from Rich Sherman yesterday as he uses it in his 280 Sherman ( thanks m500 ) . Barrel is being chambered now so will see when fire forming how much they shrink up . Expiper on here created the reamer ( using Lapua /WW 30-06 ) and had already indicated that neck will be about .030thou or so short of max chamber length . Will have to verify length of chamber , and measure formed cases when rifle gets back from smith . Nosler has 2.525 on there web page for AI brass length so it will most likely work as well just need a little trim . Thanks for your reply BuddyT
