My gunsmith told me to avoid Nosler brass for the same reason. All I could find was Nosler at the time so I tried it. It was terrible. Loose pockets after third loading.
I fireformed some 280 Remington brass and it has been fine. I now have a supply of Peterson so I hope to not have to mess with Nosler brass again.

This is the answer I was hoping for. That was my plan based on my reading. I'm going to load some up and hopefully get back out shooting sometime in May.

I was in the same boat. Bought the rifle and the only brass I could get my hands on was Nosler. I picked up two (2) of the 50rd boxes. Had a set loaded up with H4831SC and IMR7828SCC shortly after I received them.

I have not reloaded any of the Nosler Brass yet though. So the loose primer pockets is to be determined.

I got the notification from Grafs about 4-6 weeks ago and I picked up 50rds. I was so impressed when they showed up that I immediately ordered another 50rds. Cheaper than Nosler, better quality than Nosler, came in a nice/reusable carrying case, and quickly. What's not to like!

Will report back on what I find with the Peterson Brass vs the Nosler Brass.

I broke down and ordered a hydroform die from Whidden and my 250 pcs of Starline 270 showed up last week. I am going to start forming in a month or so, although I now have 300 pcs of Peterson 280AI so I’ll probably be on my next barrel before I actually need the formed die.

I guess we are getting off topic…

I was introduced to the Ackley Improved by my wife. Her father built her a 250 Savage AI.

I'm still learning, so as I said first thing in this post....Anything you can all throw at me or share about the 280AI, I welcome!
