28 Nosler Brass --

Gearing up to load this cartridge for my friend. He's got a brand new Hell's Canyon X Bolt.
We've got a new set of Redding Dies -- and that's it. Need brass, and thought I'd ask if there is anything I should stay away from. Looks like availability is kind of dicey.

Any info would be appreciated. I've just scratched the surface on my knowledge of this cartridge, and would love to ramp up my learning curve.:) jd

I don’t own one but have entertained the idea of building one. I heard ADG made really good brass for them.

All American and excellent. But some of their brass has a hair less capacity so have to keep that in mind when loading with their brass.

I know 4 mfg's that make 28 Nos.brass...

ADG
Peterson
Hornady
Nosler

Of those 4 I'd pick Peterson and ADG first, then Nosler and Hornady last.

I am in agreement with ya , I have for the most part had good luck with Nosler brass I did have some bad .300wm brass a few years ago. I tried to buy some Lapua .7-08 brass the other day but they were out so I bought 2 50ct boxes of Nosler although all but this piece looked goood, even better looking then the 7-08 Lapua I later got from Bruno’s the runout on it was terrible , I usually do a skim turn before loading and I didn’t and regret it! .002-.010 runout with the average probably .005-.006 The Lapua once I ran a mandrel through them were fine but 75% of them had bad mouth dings was very disappointed.

My pard said that he's seen both Hornady and Nosler ammo in stock locally, so I was interested to find out which one to get to get us started with some once fired brass. The rifle is so far unfired. Looks like we might have to wait awhile to get some ADG. Might as well get started with sump thin. jd
