Has anyone experimented with a 140 grain bullet in the 28 Nosler? I have a great load using 195 Bergers and RL 33. Now looking for something at the other end of the weight range.
Thanks
The 7 STW and the 28 Nosler are about the same capacity.
With a zero freebore reamer on the 7 STW, we run the 140g Nosler C/T bullets at 3550 plus on 9.25"- 11" Twist rifles, I will not say how much faster. IMR 7828.
120's are at 3800+, shoot bug holes.
We are on our second reamer. Deer flop HARD at 550.
That's "Packin The Mail" & "Pouring on the Coal" For sure !! - Possible to get 1000 rnds of decent accuracy with the 140's & 120's ??
Here is the issue with barrel life. Most of the 120 and 140g bullets like to be seated very close if not touching the lands, excepeption of course is the 120g ttsx which we jump at .050.That's "Packin The Mail" & "Pouring on the Coal" For sure !! - Possible to get 1000 rnds of decent accuracy with the 140's & 120's ??
