270 Winchester 130 Grain Loads

My favorite load for the last 20 years has been 57.0 Gr of IMR 4831,Federal Brass, CCI 250 Primer, and any one of several 130 Grain bullets. This load has done well with the rifle's factory barrel, its first custom and now its second custom bbl. I just tune with seating depth. Now the problem--I'm out of IMR 4831.

I have Reloader 19 & 22, IMR 4350, along with Hodgdon 4350, 4831, and 1000. Surely some of you accuracy buffs has a good old 270 Win deer rifle with a pet load you could share.

i use 60 gr. of 4831 h and a 130 flat base but now there is so much difference lot to lot that you to check the speed the last 4831 was three grains slow.

I also use 60 grs H-4831 with 130's. It's been very accurate in every 270 Win I have ever seen. I am still using power that I have had for a while so can't comment on what Johara1 said.

Count another one in for 60 grains fo H4831. I'm using TSX 130 grain bullets, with a 24 inch Lija barrel.

I'm looking to load H4831 with a Nosler 130 BT what are you guys seeing for seat depth? how much or how little jump?

I too used to use 60gr of H4831, 130gr Speer Hot Cors with great success, but since the lot to lot swings, I no longer use that powder at all. We can only buy 1lb cans of H4831 here, rarely would you get the same lot. Stupid thing is... it’s made here.
I switched to RE22 with the above bullet and 150gr Partitions.

Don't own one anymore but IMR 4350 with Sierra 130 Spitzer BT was my go to load. Very accurate, flat shooting, and outstanding terminal performance. A super white tail cartridge especially in open country.

I too have run H-4831 originally, then H-4350, and now Re-22 near the top end book load. This is for a M-70 Fwt using 130 Nosler BT.

I worked up some of these for my lil brother's 270 yet to shoot them tho.
Alliant has data for Rl26 also pushing 130's to 3200 fps.
