IMR 4198 for 270

I found a recipe in the ‘96 edition of Lee’s Modern Reloading. It indicates a starting load of 32.2 grains of IMR 4198 to propel a 130 grain jacketed bullet; I used a Hornady sp Interlock.
Has anyone else here used IMR 4198 for 270 win?

I won't deny it's a hot load, it would not make any difference anyway which one it is since they are side by side on the burn rate chart one is #75 and they other is #76 and I have used both for the same application.
It is not a staple load by anymeans I don't like loads that don't fill the case, but that all I had when there was a shotage of components during they anointed ones tenure.

Generally its a smaller case powder....223, 30br and others. I think the reason H4198 is preferred by some is that it meters way better through a powder measure than the longer stick IMR4198.

I've used IMR 4198 in my 270 Win. It was a reduced load from Ken Waters Pet Loads. I uses a 110 Sierra with 21 grs of IMR 4198 with a CCI 200 primer. Vel was 1750 ft/sec. This is a great load for young shooters or practice as recoil is a non factor and great for short rang varmints. In my rifle (Browning BBR) it shot sub MOA.
