26in Barrel 243 Win and H1000?

I'm planning my next build. I have an ARC Necleus action on the way. I'm currently shooting a 6 Comp match. Most of my dies will work with a 243, and I'm somewhat tired of fireforming which is the reason for my question. Have any of you ran a 105 class bullet in a 243 with H1000, and if so could you get close to 3100 fps with it? Thanks.

I had a 28 inch 8 twist 6BRDX bbl set back and chambered in 243 Win and run the uni-throater in to where the 105 VLD-H was .015 in the lands at 2.850 OAL to fit the AI mags,,I never measured the bbl after set back but was in the 26.5-27 inch range,,
I used WW brass and CCI 200 primers and I really hate to say how much H1000 but the Magnetospeed clocked it at 3195 fps and around .5MOA type accuracy..

I wound up shooting the same load only with 42 grs H4350 at 3220 fps and better accuracy,,the bbl had 1800 rounds on it before chambering in 243 and I still got another 1,000 rounds of good enough shooting to bang MOA size steel plates out to 1350 yards,,at 1,000 yards I could hit the 5.5x8 inch plate with it easier than I could the TRG 338L..

Greetings,
I'm running 46.0 H-1000 with a 105gr Berger Hybrid @ 3080fps. 30" 1-8 Bartlein.
Good luck
John

Should be able to do it as I have had a bunch of friends use it with 105s and 115s in the .243. I use H4350 with the 105 BTHP and a 26" 8.5 twist Bartlein barreled .243 and I get 3070fps and great accuracy.

I'm not afraid of using a 10 inch drop tube... a straight 243 Will probably be my next adventure. If I don't like it, it's easy enough to turn it into a comp match.

I worked up a little Rem 783 with 46.0gr of H1000 and 105 Amax that shot amazingly well. Velocity was just over 2800 fps but those little things only have a 22" barrel.

Just the thread I've been looking for...
Running a 26" Muller 7:75, throated for 105's
I got consistent .3" groups on XX gr of H4831SC, so Im not sure I should even mess with something different, but I have a whole jug of H1000 that's feeling unwanted.
.

Absolutely, I run both cartridges with H1000. The 115 DTAC in my Comp Match, Hornaday 105 BTHP M in my .243. My barrels are 28" and the .243 started at 3154 fps. At 1050 rounds it is 3105 fps. I use a drop tube, Winchester brass. Oh I also use my first barrel for fire forming.

Look at the 6 SLR instead of the 6 Comp Match. No fireforming with the SLR. Had team mates that went 6 Comp Match back around 2004 and I went straight .243 for our Now what is called PRS matches. I didn't want to fireform. The fireforming was a non starter for me and watching them peck around like chickens trying to find their brass showed me I made the right decision. LOL They were getting 115s at 3050fps and I was at 2990fps. They both got around 2700-2800 rounds on their barrels. About 500 of that was fireforming. I sold my original .243 at 1880 rounds and it was still sub half moa. The SLR is something to think about if you don't like fireforming. All you have to do it run the .243 brass through a sizer.

I've said many times, if I didn't already shoot a 6mm Competition Match I would be shooting the 6SLR. I don't peck around looking for my brass, I give it a good once over than move on. I lose very few. I have noticed how the Lapua brass shooters look harder for theirs.

My 30" 7 twist 243 was 2995fps with I want to say 47gr of H1000 it was right around hogdens listed max.
Accuracy and es were good the 2995fps was not!
