Hey I’m completely unable to find a Redding body die in 243 and don’t want to pay outrageous shipping so I was wondering why I couldn’t use a 260 Remington FL die with the expander decamped taken out of it to size the body of 243 cases?
I have tried running a 7mm-08 into the 308 FL die without the recapping pin and expander. I found the sized case neck of a 7mm-08 to fit snuggly into the neck portion of the 308 sizing die with a tiny bit of pressure on the ram. I don’t think it’s changing the neck at all but I also think that the shoulder is fully supported.
I am using rcbs dies right now for all of this but am thinking of switching to a body die/lee collet die setup because I found my brass is growing a lot and I’m starting to look for a little more consistency in my die setup (runout, shoulder bump and neck tension).
Mostly I just hunt and target shoot for fun but I’m going down the rabbit hole of reducing group sizes as much as possible.
