260 Rem case problems

I would adjust the headspace to fit the brass rather than fire form all my cases it to fit a long chamber. It's a 30 min job.

OP, the solution to the problem is to find out how far out you have to seat a bullet until it touches the lands, then go 0.030" farther than that with good neck tension on the brass. Virgin unsized lapua brass has plenty of neck tension so you can just load and shoot. The bullet will hold the case head against the bolt face, there won't be any stretching of the web and you'll have brass that you can safely reload without any further need to jam the bullet.
Loaded 5 .030 long. Same load of 39 gr. in new virgin brass.
Case length shrunk .003-.004 and base to shoulder grew .006 from 1.553 - 1.559. Head grew from .467 to .470.
Still have noticeable ring but I can't "feel" it like I could before.
I'll shoot these and see how it goes.
thanks for everyone's help

Are you sure it's ring ? Or a color change where the brass thins from the base to the case . Larry
