260 Rem 130 Accubond Loads

Prose

Silver $$ Contributor
260 Rem, 24" Sporter.
130 gr Nosler Accubond
Lapua 308 brass necked and turned to fit Saami Chamber.
WLR Primer, I am open to criticism about this primer. Does the 260 have a favorite?
Planning on COAL 2.805 seated .010 off lands, up to .030 off lands

Will the nosler reloading data on their website (Nosler brass rem primer) be approximate to the same as the lapua brass?

Looking for ~2800 FPS. I have all powders lister by Nosler for this load. This is a deer rifle.

Can't comment about a load but can about Winchester primers. My experience with the 260 has been the Win primers function very well until you get into max loads then you'll pierce them. I was shooting 142SMK's and a heavy dose of Varget for a 1K load.

I have 260 loads with Accubonds, Partitions, and BT's. One load with H4350, one with H414, and one with Varget. They have WLR primer or Rem 9 1/2s. I do not recall which has which......CRS. Nothing wrong with using the WLR primers. They are one of my favorites.

What powder charges are you using and how is the velocity? Thanks for your response.

you should be able to get that 130gr accubond up over 3000fps pretty east with a 24" tube. I use RL26 behind a norma 130gr bullet and am getting 2950 from a 22" barrel. As for hunting, run some H4831 and seat to mag depth and you'll be cooking with fire. I use CCI BR2 primers with my 260 and they have performed very well up to and over max loads, no issues.

43.0 Gr of H4350 gives the 130 Accubonds about 2825 fps in my 260 in Winchester 7/08 Brass with Fed 210M primer. Small groups, dead deer, and brass holds up pretty well. My bbl is 26".

I went with H4831SC as I have enough to do all my cases if that is the winner. Made up 60 rounds in batches of three from 44-47.5 with both WLR and BR2 primers. I have to imagine I'll find something there and then start playing with seating depth. For now I'm .01 off the lands. I can load at the range tomorrow if I need to. My money is on 46 and WLR.

The RCBS Chargemaster is at my dad's so loading tonight was very tedious. I forgot what it's like to do them one by one. I need a second chargemaster...

A max load of Re17 gets me 3010, with 129 Interlocks, with 1/2 moa accuracy. Abs should be real similar. 24-inch Criterion.

4831SC right around 46 grains and the WLR did well. This group is at 200 yards. Tomorrow I'll play around with it and see if they will touch.
