260 in a short action, ANY limitiation on bullets?

This is what I had to do as well. I’m using the AICS mags that are 2.285” and am running the OTM’s at 2.275”. I tried the Berger 140’s but if memory serves me I ran out either case capacity or length.
This is a Savage model 10, when I did the initial seating test it was in a Bell and Carlson blind mag stock which had a lot of room and I recently changed over to a chassis system in order to run magazines.
The OTMs shoot very well and gives me plenty of velocity. Hope this helps. E

Similar situation for me, had tons of room in factory savage mags but had to change my loads for AI magazines when I went to a chassis

I run a 260AI in almost all of my PRS/NRL rifles for years. 140 grain bullets are going to be about your limit. Lately I've been shooting 140 ELD-M's, and even those I have to seat them a little deeper than I'd like to fit in my MDT short action mags.

This year I built a 6.5x284 on a Defiance XM action, to run 153 A-Tips for NRL Hunter matches. I'll shoot my first match with it this weekend, but so far it's been an awesome cartridge for that XM action.

2880 is what I settled on!

Got up around 2950, but had some pressure doing the water test so backed down.

54.1 grains of h1000.

I shoot the 153.5 in a short action 700 for F/class, I cannot eject a live round. COAL for me at .020" jump is 3.110". Same goes for my Panda F/class. Both in 260AI.
