260 AI and OAL Guage?

Can I use a standard 260 modified case along with the Over All Length Gauge in a 260 Improved chamber?

To me it seems that the different shoulder will not work exactly the way it is supposed to...

Can I fire form a modified case? Or get an Improved modified case?

Cheers

OK, HERE GOES,

WAITED FOR ANY REPLYS BEFORE POSTING THIS.

I recently had a 6.5x08 modified to a 6.5xc08 with a 30 deg. shoulder [like 6 br] calling it the 6.5 HABU.

i utilized a 6.5x08 case to measure length the length to the lands. measurement was the same for the 'habu' as it was/is for my 6.5x08

the juncture of the neck and shouler is the same dist. from the base in both cases.

to save some money on very exp. dies, i had dave kif [pt&g] cut me a resizing reamer and i cut a full length resize die. i used my 6.5x284 comp. seater die for seating - 284 has a 35 deg. shoulder.

i get about 20 - 23 thou. more case cap. and can go back to using VAARGET with 142's. it also shooot h4350 and rl-17 very well.

hooope this helps

Modified cases don't have primer pockets, they have been drilled out and threaded so you can't fire form them. I bought a tap and make my own from fired cases. Have to be carefull drilling out primer pocket to keep hole straight. Easier to do if you have a lathe to chuck case in to drill and tap.
