Mark - You’ll have better luck getting answers to this question by posting in the reloading section.

Load a 140 just as you would in a standard 260 and shoot it. The case capacity increase is minimal and you want to use a snappy load to fireform. Do not use a mild load. If you do, you will end up with excessive head clearance on your fireformed brass. If it was me, I would load 47 of 4831 and the 140 of the day and shoot it. WH
i have read that a few people are not liking the RDF would that be the best to load to fire form just to get rid of the bullets like 47 gr of imr4831 with the 140RDF to fireform i have alot of mag primers would it be ok to use those for fire forming to save my large rifle primers for fine tuning?

I use 44gr of H4831 under any 130-140 for fire forming. It shoots so damn well, its a standard accuracy load in 260 rem. I don't even worry about doing a load work up. I bought several hundred 130smk pulls and it will shoot 1/2" 10 round groups at 100 yards with them. I don't typically fire form beyond 600 yards, though, mostly 200-300 yards.

Do yourself a favor and either sell the RDF or relegate them to fire forming at short range. Ive shot some groups in the 1s at 100y with them, but I've also had some really wild upwind 6's at 1000y with them. I went through about 600 trying to make them shoot without the Random Damn Flyer.

the brass your going to use will determine your powder charge, rem, win, brass have more internal volume than lapua, peterson even less. 43 gr h4350 in formed lapua cases, 142 sierra mk @2.940 is max in my rifle the load runs 2925 in a 28in barrel, work up to loads your finding here, when your bolt lift gets stiff or ejector marks show up drop back on your charge my self I run vv n-160 142smk,

Thats a good point. All my data is from lapua and Peterson SRP brass. In several 260AI ive seen around 48gr of H4831 and RL 23 being about the max, but as always shooter beware and load smart.

First I would find out what the fb is. If it is real short. Use lighter bullets. If it is long, use the 140 class bullets.
I have seen 260ai with a really short throat
And no matter what it wouldn't shoot those long bullets stuffed way down in the case.
Once I extended the throat. It was instantly shooting bug holes w 140 class bullets.
