.257 vs .244 vs . 224 Formula?

Searching for the Bore Data to compare 6's, Quarter, & 22's. I'm sure there is a Formula or Calculator for this. Also, has anyone heard of new Quarter bore High BC Bullets?

I know I'm not the only one, but I have shot high BC bullets out of high velocity .25 caliber rifles. Bullets from 130 to 142 grains in 1-8" and 1-7" twist rate barrels.

I have made bullets by swaging down various 6.5 caliber bullets for the past 12 years, and I cannot believe none of the major bullet manufacturers have not done the same thing.

I know a couple of different custom 257 Weatherby Magnum rifles that are doing very well out to 1,800 yards with match grade accuracy.

Howdy !

You can run various calc using the "Powley computer" http://kwk.us/powley.html
There's also a link to his " PSI Calculator "

*** Be sure to check-out the drop downs, especially the case capacity tables. ***

What your eluding to is a comparison of rifle' "expansion ratio".
This varies w/ chamber capacity and bore capacity, the latter varied within each calibre by change in barrel length.

Powley provided some great info on expansion ratio in the "Guns and Ammo 1974 Annual",
which featured 15 pages of the "Powley Papers".

I have been a .244 fan for over 50 yrs. Several years ago bought a .257 Robert's. I think the .257 is a better dual purpose cartridge. BC for most purposes is over rated in my opinion.Proper rifle tune, gun handling, and reading conditions far out weigh BC.
